447 piston need help

Hi guys,
I just wanna buy the 74-76 piston set (piston,clip,rings,etc) from the ebay..
This guy said i can used the piston in 447 engine, but i cannot use the rings..
Can any guru here explain me why i cant use that rings?

The 74-76 is a 447 engine. (in the US) AFAIK those should work fine in any 74-84 XS650 if used as a set.

I have several sets of his pistons and rings, I have late cylinders bored to match them but have not installed a set yet. He sells both 256 and 447 type piston sets.
daddycycle has reported success using quite a few of the cruizingimage kits.

I have always wondered why he uses the 74-76 year range in his ad.....

Somewhere in 447 production there is a change to at least one ring's thickness but used as a set you should be good. Wouldn't be the first time I found out something I didn't know though.

Thanks gggary yea it just doesnt make sense in my logic, if its a set, it supposed to be fine right?
