650 Central Carbs - Stupid Newbie Question

I recently purchased the Mikuni VM34MM Round Slide Kits from 650 Central.

Today, I took off the old stock carbs and airboxes and installed the new ones. I chose the Uni pod airfilters so that I can use the stock side covers.

What are the two clear plastic hoses for? The stock carbs had one long hose that routed downward through the frame. These carbs have two much shorter such hoses. Is one supposed to be linked between the carbs?

Float bowl vents, should be left open and pointed down somewhere.

I just picked up a 75 last week bored out to a 750. Where did you score the carbs? I am taking my Yamaha to a heavy custom angle. It has too many unoriginal parts to hold the stock angle. I have a 76 cb550 all stock.

Got the carbs from Mike at 650 Central. He was very helpful and so far so good!
