I know I am a real stickler about battery drain. I take mine out after each ride and bring it into the house. I also prop the motorcycle side stand on a 1" wooden plank, so no metal contact is to the concrete. We all are many times so quick in our actions/reactions that it is easy to overlook correct procedures. Instilled in us all are habits, and we guided by these. Without them we are prone to err. Have you solved where the shockwave you felt came from when you reached for the petcock?

Points are ok. Tried starting it but no good. I have to quit before I hurt my knee. I have a swimming group now and when I return I'll try and diagnose the
ignition coil for damage. Meanwhile, I still dont trust my light modification for shorting as well.
