72 to 78+ Tranny Swap

So I'll be tearing down my bottom end to repair what is expected to be a worn shift drum and will likely just replace all the running gear while Im there. The question I have it what would be involved in swapping from a 72 tranny to a 78+ to be able to run the Mike's 5th gear?

From what I've read here and elsewhere, as long as you replace the entire transmission, you're fine.
