Hey guy's. First post. I just picked up a 72 XS2. It has no spark. It looks like the PO changed the point's. He said he couldn't get any spark. Where do I start. I don't have a manual yet,,buy the way,,,what one do you recommend.
I found some wire's disconnected, and tapped off. The orange one on top may go to the coil. But I can't tell. The only problem is the it seems like it would plug into this blue wire coming out of the head light bucket. Surly they don't go together do they.
Also, when I try the electric start, I just get a solenoid clicking sound. I think it's coming from a relay on the side. I could be wrong, but is this the safety relay. That wouldn't have anything to do with a no spark condition would it. I would assume it would just affect the starter. But l'm a newb, so I know nothing. This is my first bike that I tried to work on, so please keep it to little word's.
