I have an 81 with stock electrical components, and I want to rewire as part of my build to only include: headlamp, starter, tail lamp with front and rear brake switches, and actual critical engine parts. I want to eliminate everything else: turn signals, backup headlight thing, gauges, indicator lights, horn. I do not have money for any of the aftermarket electrical parts PAMCO etc.

I have looked at the "simplified" wiring diagrams, but the ones I see are either not for my year, or have some components I don't have (like the aftermarket parts) which confound and scare my fragile amateur brain.

I have seen this diagram but it only seems to have a rear brake switch and I have no idea where the wires as indicated in the alternator, pickup, etc physically exist on the bike and I don't see a fuse box on this diagram and I don't see a starter or starter switch:

Has anyone seen one similar to this as I describe or wants to break it down for me to understand? I have spent a lot of hours researching everything on my build for about a year and I hate to post on a subject that gets so many hits but before I go and buy some stuff I really wanted to seek some advice.

Is my simplified switch adequate, and how the heck do I wire THAT with the diagram?!?

This is my headlight (no idea if high beam?) http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vinta...black-mini-bates-brass-headlight-67-7710.html

And this is my only switch: http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vinta...ebar-turn-signal-blinker-switch-46-68900.html
