Running and riding and feeling happy! Wanted to check in and thank the forum for helping me through an adventure of a build.
Once I got the electrics sorted I replaced the swing arm bushings and re did some mounts. Got new front tire and made some side covers out of old license plates.
Starts on one kick and is a zippy little ripper.

I am a bit too big, as expected, and I can’t ride long before my legs need a stretch. Forward controls would require different pipes so for now it’s gonna roll like this and be a short hop machine. Thanks again team, this forum has been so helpful.

Did 83' come with mag wheels... thought they all had mega spokes wheels.... ?

83J Heritage Special came out with Spoke wheels with drum Rear wheel. Your bike has been converted to the Mags from one of either 78SE-79SF-80SG, mag disk brake rear............Where they have mounted the rear MC mounts they have drilled through the frame........on the factory models they mounted 2 tubes into the top of the frame for the MC brackets.......
Your bike ................... ...............78SE
