83 xs650 no spark

I have bought a new coil to find out both my old and new coil are in good condition. I am definitely a beginner learning from trail and error but I cant afford to be making to costly of mistakes if it is just a quick fix...any help would be appriciated..I checked the side stand relay but is turns out to have been bypassed. so mabey its in my kill switch or tci unit?

Those side stand safety relay switches will kill your engine if the side stand is down and you put it in gear,

If the relay has been bypassed by a PO and you bought a non runner, then the issue could be in how it was bypassed. You have to link the two wires that went to the safety relay, can't just unplug the connector.

There's a couple of safety relays on the '82's and '83's that can give you the fits. Haynes manual in hand with a search and destroy attitude can resolve some issues.
