AA Batteries for Battery?

I've got a PMA and pamco clone ignition, so there's only the bare need for a battery.

Anyone here ever try replacing their womping big lead acid battery for some dry cell AA batteries in a pack of 8?

I feel like it's a stupid question somehow, but I'm going to ask it anyway.
