I saw this at the Handbuilt show a couple of weeks ago. More on the show later.
Talked to a couple of the guys. Price is $3,000. They claim that competitors' desktop CNCs start at 5K, plus 1K for the software, so this is half the price.
They also say that this is the only desktop CNC that will mill steel, titanium, or "any metal." The competition can only mill aluminum, so they say.
They make a big deal about the software being open source, and hence, you don't pay extra for it like the other guys, and about building a community where owner's share.
Taking deposits now, and will begin delivering in a few months.

Displayed results. Most were test pieces. A couple of copper gaskets, a Corvette emblem in the lower right corner, and the beginning of a few wheel hubs.

You can mill, steel, titanium or any other metal with pretty well any mill, regardless of size. The ability to machine these metals relies on the cutting tools, not so much the machine. However, size makes a big difference in the size of the stock you can fit in the machine and the speed you can machine a shape. Smaller machines take much smaller cuts than bigger machines, so there is a trade off.
That is an awfully small machine though, could be very limiting in what you can fit in the machine and very slow machining largish parts. For the same money you could buy a larger, manual machine. They can't compete with CNCs in terms of what they can manufacture, but can still machine most anything.
Your intended use should be the deciding factor.
