I recently retorqued the head and it feels like the motor runs different,is that possible, could this have effected timing, valves ect.I recall setting the valves to a tighter tolerance to test last season and it feels the same result like the motor wouldent spool up as quick in the mid range, even the idle was lower.I probably got a 1/2 a turn on all the head nuts since rebuild so i figure that i compressed the gasket quit a bit more than it was.

It never hurts to check the valve clearance. A cam in head engine should not have the valve clearance affected by retorqueing the head. The cam chain might be off and should be reset.

Now if this is an old Brit bike the valve clearance would change because of the pushrods and the cam in the case.
