Taking the ideas of others here. I saw the threads about using a Briggs & Stratton air filter element, cut down, to fabricate a nice paper air filter. I also saw the posts of others who bought other foam type filter media and just reused the old filter cage.
Here's my take. I did buy the B&S filter, intending to use that, but instead got to thinking I could use the filter foam itself. So, I cleaned up the old filter cage, and using some hot melt glue for foams, vinyl and plastics, I did this:
