Almost there, going nowhere...yet

So I am so close to being done with this build. I got the bad boy fired up on Friday, and started trying to do the little adjustments on timing and carbs to get them all behaving nicely. Timing is correct, but I am getting a lot of backfiring. I am thinking carbs need to be richened?

I am using VM34 carbs. I was able to take it for a ride and it was fine, but like I said I am still getting a lot of backfiring which seems a little troubling to me. Any suggestions? Just richen the carbs more and more?

Exhaust leaks? Check your plugs to see if your running lean first

Cuold be an exhaust leak now that I think about it. How would I verify that exhaust might be the culprit? I will check the plugs too. I can use the service book to find out if they are lean I beleive. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I had not thought about the fact that it might be an exhaust issue.

Also make sure your advance is working properly, open it up an make sure the springs are keeping things nic and tight.
