I'm just double checking here, i know some years have two coils, while others had just one. is it alright to use either or, as long as its wired properly? or is it year specific?
It has to do with the type of ignition you're running. Points ignitions need a higher resistance coil of 4 or 5 ohms or the points will burn up quickly. Electronic ignitions use a lower ohm coil of like 2 or 3 ohms. So, you need to match the coil to the ignition.
