I have the Heiden one of very similar design and this looks great too!! What element did you use for the screen?

I like it. One observation.... if the filter is a snug fit in the block, the o-ring isn't really necessary, It's a suction filter, and a low pressure one at that.... so no blowby concerns. Although I like your "attention to detail," you could omit that and save time and money making the final product. Unless your letting a computer cut these? Computer don't get paid by the hour. ;)
At any rate, I like it. You have an out the door cost estimate yet?

This is the only high tech device I can handle. Garage is all turnin' handwheels & readin' dials (do cheat a bit with DRO on the mill;)).
That O-ring is as much a way to allow for any "manufacturing discrepancies" as it is a seal. Besides at a couple bucks a 10 pack they don't really increase cost a bunch.
Want to keep the cost as reasonable as possible without going backwards. Making a bunch at a time helps cut down on set-up time, running multiple parts per op. Thinkin' if we can stay in the $50ish range may be doable.

The spring is to hold the filter snug in the intake end, makes up for any minor variables from plate to plate. Between the spring & the O-ring they will both hopefully help with a bit of vibration isolation.

$50 is a fair price. Heidens the only competition you have and he's at 41 euro ($46) plus shipping.

Peckin' away at small batch of 'em when time permits. This being one of our busy times at work (HVAC guy by trade) and getting everything snuggled in for the big freeze puts a damper on garage time.
