ATU reasembly

my assumption of one firing is because i ran it for several minutes and the left side was hot to the touch and the right was still cold

i also checked and all of the magnets are still in the pamco rotor

it only ran with choke on i would guess this is a combo of cold engine and only one cylinder firing

that actually sounds like you might need to check your carbs again. What did the plugs look like when you pulled them after the warm up?

well, that's consistent with the one side not firing. <thinking> have you checked resistance from the tip of the plug to the end of the wire? Unplug the wire from the coil and check for resistance. It should be between 1k and 10k ohms, depending on your setup. Same both sides.

have not checked resistance ill add that to my to do list for tomorrow also

you have been so helpful i cant thank you enough

no worries. The key to this is breaking it down into parts until you can isolate the problem.

By the way, a possible reason that it didn't start when you switched was because the plugs had fouled up.

i mean there isnt to many thing to it (spark, gas, air, compresion and timing)

when you say fouled plug what do you mean...mine were brand new just bought that day
