Backbone diameter???

Hi everybody! I'm new to the forum and getting ready to do my first XS650 build. I've been lurking for a while. This site is great! I'm going to be doing an old school 70's chopper on a 79 donor. I need to know the diameter of the backbone and downtubes so I can buy tubing. Thanks! I can't wait to get going on this thing!

So you don't have the bike yet? I know I'm late on this thread but I could measure for you if you still need it.

On the '83 I measured, the backbone is 1 1/2" and the down tubes are really close to 1 1/8" where it's not sleeved and about 1.33" where the sleeves are added from the neck down to about the front engine mount.
