Backwards brake performance

I'm having thoughts of using a '78 wheel assembly for another project that has the drive sprocket on the right side, so would the brake stiil have the same braking power pulling the opposite way on the brake rod?

yes. works both ways. take a drum out of the wheel, and work the arm. you will see a blade type thing that seperates forces the shoes apart.

Thanks for the reply. I hate to have to go through the hassle of a wheel swap to find the brake ineffective.
