Hi

I just bought an XS1B and the clutch was very stiff. I took the cover off the gear change side of the engine and cleaned all the grease and muck off the push lever assy and in doing so, noticed a ball bearing inside it. When I checked the parts fiche, it shows this ball bearing at the end of the push rod on the clutch side.

So my question is, which end of the push rod should the ball bearing go, clutch side or push lever side?

Thanks

Ant

One on each end and one in the middle if it has the two piece rod. The bearing on the left is SUPPOSED to be retained inside the ramp insert by staking so it does not show up on the parts list, but it seldom is still a captive..
