Barrel o rings.

Hi all,
I have a question for the forum.
I am rebuilding my engine and refitted the pistons, barrels and head this afternoon.
I remember putting the o rings on the liners and pushing them up but I was going to push them into the groove when I had the barrels sitting on the engine. I forgot that bit.
My question is, will the gasket be tight enough to the sleeves to push the o rings up into the groove?

IMHO if you didn't feel resistance when you put on the jugs then you probably didn't break the o-ring and I bet it seated itself.
