ohio for now. Minnesota in about a month.
Background:

A few years ago I bought a basket case 77 XS650 bobber. We had a baby and the project got put on hold. I recently started working on it again. I have never heard or seen the bike running. I purchased all the parts for a PMA swap, a PamcoPete ignition, a sparx capacitor and a coil from MikesXS. I do not have a battery at this point but I do have access to borrow a 12 volt battery from a friend for testing purposes.

Question:

Can I just go straight to installing the Pamco and PMA before starting it?

Yep. I did.

You may need a multi meter if it doesnt want to fire up right away.

Do diligence and triple check everything before attempting to get it running. This means carbs, cam chain tension, valves, timing, etc.

I'm bringing this up again. So I'm kinda in the same boat. Bought a chop awhile back. Rebuilt the chassis the way I wanted and now I'm gonna work on making it run again. I have a PMA, pamco, mech at and a cap. I didn't mark the timing marks before I took it apart. Now I'm just trying to figure out where to begin. It was running when I got it so I know it does. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
