Okay, the difference between a 12n14 3A battery & a 12N9 4B battery is what?
I understand both are 12 volt; one has 14 ampere hour, the other 9; but what is that last number?
& can I swap them around?

The last number usually designates the terminal and/or vent hose arrangement. Positive and negative terminals plus the side that the vent is on are reversed for the 2 batteries you've listed. I would say no, they won't swap, at least not without some wiring mods. The 9 won't have the cranking power of the 14 either. Why are you swapping?

Dead battery & need to get to school--no time to wait on the charger. Maybe I'll jumpstart it. Thanks for the info

These bikes won't run well, if at all, with a dead or very low battery. The ignition requires a good charge in the battery to function properly.
