Here is a video of a PAMCO driving a 17-6903 "Ultimate Coil" with one spark plug wire disconnected.
The point here is that the problem with one wire disconnected was really only associated with the 17-6803 "Green Monster" coil. Although you should not operate the ignition with one spark plug wire disconnected, this video shows that the 17-6903 coil will survive.
