When i did the dual conversion, i got an ebay deal on "piston works fine" left side front caliper from an xs1100.
As it turns out, this meant "water inside, frozen in place, will require approximately an hour to extract with much cursing, and you'll need to get a new piston".
Meh. Works fine with new piston, new o-rings, and some cleaning with a grey scuff pad of the caliper body. Usually, the piston rusts, but the body does not. I think you're otherwise going to be SOL.
I looked into a rebuild, and was actually expecting it. But man, those pistons are fused in there.
Maybe someone can suggest a more high impact method of removing the piston. This caliper is laughing at me when I attempt to use compressed air or a grease gun!
