The rear shock top mount and stud is welded deep into the frame, occasionally the stud snaps off, here's a fix. Originally did thus 3 years and 6,000 miles ago so it's stood the test of time.
Grind any stub of threads flat. Center punch and drill a 17/64ths hole 3/4" deep, might want to start with a 3/16" bit. Tap and bottom tap to m8 1.25. I made the m8 1.25 X m10 1.25 stud out of a m10 bolt but they can be purchased, but you will probably have to shorten one you might buy.. Red locktite on the 8mm ONLY then run in stud washers and dome nut. Done.

You can simply run an 8mm bolt lock washer and fender washer into your tapped hole, this method retains stock appearance.

:lmao:
I spose if you are all AR you could make a drill guide to fit over the shock mount stub that would center AND square your bit. but IMHO eye ball is good enough.
Then again I drilled and tapped new exhaust pipe flange stud holes into the exhaust manifold of a V6 S!0 4x4 in place working from under the truck. They were still holding when the truck was sold years later.
