Wanted - BS38 Slide (jet) needle preload spring

Just concerns me because I just noticed that if you check Mike's he lists the same part number as being the spring for the BS34.
http://www.mikesxs.net/product/48-0669.html

But I've checked at several online parts places and the fiche for a '79 shows that part number 3F7-14589-00-00.

I still have one spring from the carbs I guess I'll order two and see if they are the same as the one I didn't loose.

New to this game, learning one muck-up at a time.

What's nice at boats.net if you click on the part number it shows all the applications, and that spring is used on a lot of carbs! you should be good to go.

If you haven't, IMHO this would be a good time to order and change the throttle shaft seals, but only if you feel confident you can do the work without harming the screws and shafts during replacement. It requires flawless screwdriver technique and should only be done using a JIS #2 screwdriver or bit.

Thanks for the tip.

Actually I've already got them out. I mucked up the screws and had to drill the heads off, and back the shafts out from the back with needle nose pliers, but I was able to do it without harming the butterfly's, shafts, or body of the carb.

Luckily screws are easy to replace.

Unfortunately, I have discovered that part number is not correct. Biker.net has the correct fiche for my carbs (2FO-14900-00-00) and the correct part number for the spring is 2F0-14589-00-00 SPRING and it is obsolete. http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-2F0-14589-00-00.html

If you look closely on the fist boat.net fiche I linked, the model in the title block for the carb is for a BS34 (3G1-00) So looks like the don't have the right "Where used" info on the 1979's

Sure as shit, you got me. I RElooked at the fiche and sure enough it's a pic of a BS34 my bad glad you caught it.
