Can you re-jet BS38's? Mine appear to have permanent jets in them. I have a set of carbs off a 1981 too but the flange sizes and design are different on those (they have a small port for a "breather"? line i think. Not exactly sure.

Eitherway is it possible to re jet the bs38's and if so how?

Yes you can. First I would(and have) take them apart.
You will need to KNOW what year carb you are working with.
What the stock specs for jetting is.
What you have presently.
Are you familiar with any of the online parts schematic sites?
Looking at the schematic you should be able to identify what goes where.
