I build a lot of motors and just want to share with you some pictures of some motors I am building now and how lucky you are that your XS650 puts out maybe 45 to 60 HP and not over 100 hp because this is what happens and you can get hurt if you are going fast. These are GEN 1 Busa Motors but it happens to many other for lack of oil or 1/4 mile wheelies. This is two different motors FIRST two are spun bearings low oil and last picture is the new rebuild for this motor and now its running around in StatenIsland putting miles on it before I take it back and put dual batteries in it so it starts when hot. (problem with early busa) Third fourth and fifth picture is complete destroyed motor. Guy was on RTE 55 here in NJ going fast with low oil and BOOM!!!! Threw that rod right threw the cases. Check out the piston and rod I could not make it look like that if I tried. I was able to save TRANS/WATER PUMP/HEAD minus two valves that's it all the rest goes to the scrap yard. Both of these motor will have all the upgrades and NEW JE Pistons to make them a little faster and take more ABUSE. These stock are around 160hp to rear wheel stock and this setup I do brings them up to around 190hp BUT I am not going to give away my secrets LOL
I can build three XS650 motors for the cost of one of these. So KEEP doing wheelies with out that windage tray and I will see you soon!!!

I have blown up my fair share of engines (car not bike) but that right there is impressive.

I have done a bunch of these motors and the rod just blew me away. Bike was a clean bike but no oil and BOOM!!!! You would never tell from picture that there was that much damage.

11,000 rpms do things plus no oil and you made a blast oven. I use to keep a collection of these bad parts but got too much and would have to build another garage.
Just think about this .....This guy was doing 65mph and it locked up .I have seen them at 175mph do this and parts fly all over. POWER BABY POWER lol I get these motors over 300 HP and up. This one here is 225 rear wheel all motor and drives it on the street everyday
That's why I don't get crazy with XS650 builds I want it to start go down the rode and no BOOM

Here is a update on the blown engine..... ALL together and ready to hit the streets again. All I was able to salvage from old motor was trans/cams/and had to do head over
