Butterfly=" throttle valve" in Yamaha's terminology. The split rod that holds the throttle valves is called the "throttle shaft." I know of no source for replacement throttle valves on either side of the pond, and Yamaha never listed the throttle shaft as a separate part. If you post a want ad in the Classifieds here, someone might be able to help with used parts; be sure to specify the year of your carb set.
Yes, Yamaha never listed or sold the butterfly plates separately, but Suzuki did. Unfortunately, they are N.L.A. from them now too, but if you get the part numbers and Google them, maybe something will pop up. Personally, I scrounge good used ones from other carb sets. So far, all I've needed are the #135's for the BS34 carbs. I got them from some XS400 carbs and some Suzuki GS400/425/450 carbs. They can also be found in the XS750/850 triple carbs and some of the XS1100 carb sets.
