Ok, I have a XS650 shop manual but I'm finding it kinda vague. When it comes to the cam chain , all it says is to remove the master link with a cam chain cutter? So I've put together that I need to grind off the ends holding the plate on and, of course, to tie the chain down so it doesn't fall into the crankcase. Any tips/advise on this would be awesome. My other question is will the camshaft come out when the chain is out of the way? I read something about removing the bearings on the end, not sure on this procedure yet either. I'm trying to take my motor apart so I can get a new cylinder head.

i cut mine with a cutoff wheel in a dremel
you dont even have to cut the chain.
take out tha cam chain adjuster then lift the cam enough to pull off the bearings then you can get the chain off the cam and slide it out

Tator ur video was very helpful. I ended up cutting mine with a dremel too, real easy, and took it down just like you showed. i dont know all of what is in the tech section but this could go there for sure. appreciate the help.
