im installing cam shaft bearings and ive never done this before on my 1977 xs 650. my question is am i supposed to slide the cam bearings on all the way until they are touching the cam lobes? ive heard of some people saying this but it doesnt seem right. wont the bearings get worn down or maybe even the lobes? in the clymer manual i have it is kind of confusing to understand how they go on exactly too. Thanks anything helps!

Slide the bearings all the way. I'll be fine. No wear will happen because the lobe is spinning as fast as the shaft. Ball bearings lubed by oil spay from rocker shafts, rockers arms and spinning cam lobes. Contained by seals on the camshaft end housings.
