While re-assembling the top end of my 1978 Special, I forgot to check which cylinder is on the compression stroke. With the cam marks aligned properly, is it the right or left cylinder at tdc compression?
Thanks
The right cylinder will be on the compression stroke. The cam lobes on that side are both pointed or angled down. The lobes on the left cylinder are both pointed or angled up. It will be on the exhaust stroke, exhaust valve just closing and intake valve about to open. Remember, the rocker arms ride on top of the cam so lobe position there is what dictates what's happening .....
