can billet alloy be welded to the fork tubes,I'm installing a drum brake wheel on the front
end and need a brake plate stay,I want shaved forks I don't like the looks of the sr500
bolted the the forks I found a billet sr500 bracked I was going to cut it up and have it welded to the fork tube.I don't know alot about welding alum.

It would be greatly beneficial to the welder to know the alloys involved. Some aluminum alloys are weldable and some just become brittle blobs of shit when welded. 5052, 4043, and 6061 are the most common weldable wrought alloys. A356 is a popular cast alloy that is weldable. 4043 rod should join any of these materials to each other, but consult with a good white metals welder prior to buying anything, I'd say.
