Can't get the oil strainer plate off

Is it necessary?
The cavity the filter sits in is pressurized by the pump. That forces the oil into the filter and down the inside of the bolt (20) which also acts as the bypass valve.
With the gasket missing, it's possible for a small amount of oil to get inside the filter without passing through (bypassing) the screen mesh.

I don't recall mentioning it, but I might have noticed it.

I think it might have been me.

Also, I used a bit of copper pipe flattened and shaped to a chisel edge to use as a scraper. Steel is harder than aluminium and copper is softer. Worked for me.

The lever/pry point is here ... Merry Christmas all ... by the way.

I replace those 2 gaskets in the side cover when I get one of these bikes (or a new side cover) but after that, they rarely, if ever, need changing. I've been using the same ones for years on both of my bikes. I do have new spares on the shelf if needed.
