Anyone know where to get these and what they are for?

Those are acorn nuts and usually installed in places where there is a lot of corrosion expected. They cover the end of the bolts to keep the threads clean, undamaged and hopefully rust free. They are also somewhat decorative and used to dress up the look of parts. Also useful for protecting vulnerable items from getting snagged on the end of an exposed bolt.

Should be easy to get. Doesn't Mikes XS sell a bunch?

BTW, 12 X 1.25mm lug nuts work on the rear footrest mounting bolts. Dresses them up a bit.

Yes they do. They are special and probably N.L.A. They need to be a cap or acorn style to cover over the stud they're on and seal the oil in. Used examples from eBay or some such similar place may be your only option. You'll notice they're very long or deep, so just a normal acorn nut isn't going to work.

If they are NLA, try finding some coupling nuts with the same thread and plug the other end with a set screw and some pipe dope. This will have the added benefit of locking the nut in place. You might have to true up one end to get a good seal against the copper washer.

Thanks for the help guys. I tried putting some rtv in them an retorqued them. See how they hold up. I was hoping mikesxs or someone stocked them. Like stated above normal acorn nuts are significantly shorter than needed.
