Anybody know where I can find the carb manifold gaskets? or is it best to just make them out of the cork stuff you can buy at the auto stores?

The originals are quite thick, a good 1/8", maybe a little more. I believe this was intentional and an integral part of the design. They help insulate the manifolds from engine heat. Keep that in mind if you end up making your own. In other words, don't use just thin paper to make them.
