ok I know its not a xs650 but picked up a 1987 Honda cbx250 all original in good nick for next to nothing...have been all over forums /internet etc looking for a workshop manual only to find other people looking for a manual/ parts especially after a carb diaphram (my xs650s have been ignoring it in the shed..snotty fkers) seems fairly rare bike ,2 yrs only and only released in a couple of countrys ,so come on with all the collections /knowledge out there someone must have a copy or some ideas ...thanks flea

Hi Flea,
this thing?
http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Honda/honda_cbx250 87.htm
Lotsa guff on the net but no hardware source; effin' typical.
The photos say the engine seems to have been made to look like a Triumph twin?
Perhaps those Japanese designers didn't know that the Triumph twin was designed to look like a 4-valve Rudge? The bike to have back in the 1930s when a big single with two exhaust pipes was most mfrs design statement.
So congrats! What you got is a modern version of a 1930s British single, even if Honda did it unawares.

yep ,that's the one ,as you said cant seem to find any hardware source but apparently surpose to be a xl250r (dirtbike) motor that's had the gear box geared up ??also ref to being a xr250 motor ?? also some one tried to say also known as a cbf250 depending on target market but that seems unlikely as its a lot later ,think they may have mixed it up with the later twister..dont know where they got the trumpie comparasion ,a bloke in oz (250 forum) got hold of a dealership parts cat out of japan but its all in jap lingo...so the hunt is on there must be 1 somewhere (in eng) come on all you m/cycle detectives you would make a lot of cbx250 owners very happy

Hi Flea,
thing is, every 1960s thru 1990s Japanese bike has been accused of being made to look like a Triumph twin.

true ,just been having a look at the yahoo japan auctions seems the parts cat in jap is easy to find which could be helpful for part nums but still no workshop manual in English ,didn't know the site existed so should be intrestig to search it for xs650 parts and see what comes up ,trouble is sites in English but all discriptions are in jap plus some have a service charge ,will have to look into it more
