I'm rebuilding a 1974 TX650A and I'm fairly certain I have a Mikuni BS38 Model 447A1 which uses the Z6 short needle jet (which is the same as the Z8 needle jet.) There is no up ramp in the carburetor throat. Uses a 4N8 jet needle and a standard 127.5 main jet and No. 45 pilot jet.
I bought a rebuild kit from Mike's XS, the 48-1919, which is suppose to be for the TX650A but not all of the parts match such as the needle jets which are Y22, 42.5 pilot jet,130 main jet and choke body gasket. I've managed the get the correct parts except for the gasket to the choke body which does not line up. Attached is a picture of the wrong gasket which does not line up.
Does anyone know the correct part number of the gasket I need and where I can get it? Or am I stuck having to make my own?
Also I am using the Commando pipes from Mikes XS along with the XS Performance Pod Filters. Does anyone know a good starting point for main jet size and needle jet position?
