Travis heard about the trouble I was having, and hooked me up! Thanks again.

10 lbs of shit in a 5lb bag? How about 50lbs of epic win in a large usps box?!

Travis must have wizard sleeves... how all this fit, and survived, boggles the mind.

Stay tuned while I try to make a VV mk21 tail fit... after it arrives of course. (btw, I would have ordered a chop source kit for that too, but bought the mk21 first...then found the crooked frame, lesson learned).

A keen eye will notice I didn't get feet... I have other intentions.

I do make good use of those flat rate boxes! The old ladies at the post office hate me. :wink2: (they don't actually hate me)

All that expensive strapping tape helps hold them together. I used to mail full kits and all the brackets for the rotisserie stand in one large flat-rate box. They weighed in at 68lbs and I quickly realized that even though they have a 70lb limit, the boxes aren't sturdy enough for it.. And the ladies at the post office couldn't lift them off the counter. :) So now those shipments go in two boxes.

Anyway! The jig looks good! You wasted no time getting that set up. I'm looking forward to seeing how the bike turns out.

P.S. Didn't you get two small Chop Source vinyl decals (for the main rails of the jig, or for where ever)? I've been sending them with the jigs for the last couple of months. I've attached a picture of Crystal Hook's (user name chooks) frame jig for reference. The large decals were for her jig only since she displayed it at Dayton Bike Week.

I built an engine jig using a known straight frame. Not surprisingly the frame was off a little, 1/2". on the right, 1/4" on the left. So I freed the back bone from the lower rails and she slid together like butter.

Just keep waiting on the mk21 I guess... next time i'll use one of travis's builders kits, if I dont have to cancel my order in the mean time.

The pics show where the rails ended up after bolting in the jig.

I have one of Travis's Chop Source frame jig's also and love it, but i received no stickers either Joe.
Nicely done engine jig..... very thorough indeed...

So what do you get for one of those frame jig kits?

Rush2112, I'm pretty sure you got yours before I started sending decals with them. shotgunjoe did get his, but they just aren't in the pictures. For all of you guys who ordered jig kits before I was sending them with the small decals, if you want them send me an email at sales@chopsource.com and I'll send 'em out! :bike:

shotgunjoe, keep up the good work! and keep the pictures coming! Can't wait to see it with the mk21.

Nice kit Travis. The frame shotgunjoe just fixed is probably normal for the home built hardtails. That is a fine product you have there Travis. More builders should use a frame jig. Even Though you might only do one frame I would highly recommend using a frame jig. Buy one and sell it after your done with it. Beats going down the road sideways on your bike.

Got your email, once I get a couple of other projects out of the way Ill be ordering one.
The frame jig I use now is a 2 hr drive one way every time I want to build/modify a chassis,I could save enough in fuel over a couple trips to pay for the kit .

This is just the beginning... this tool opens up all new opportunitys. The hardtail fix is easy, and it could be done without a frame jig... but this bike is gonna be ridden by my wife, so I gotta do it right, the first time, or else... lmao. Im thinking stretched backbone, and single downtube also.

Monstercraftsman just sent me a shipping notice, so we will see some progress soon. Too many ideas, never enough money.

While im waiting for the ht to arrive, how about a pic of the other bike we're building? We used tubing bought from travis with the exact bends we wanted, hope to finish it this year... but the ht comes first.

Btw, thats sparky, he approves...

No no, its not all to one side, its not aligned in that pic, it was just to show the total difference. I spoke with Jon from monstercraftsman and he said they make it this way so guys running different wheels, can, so it just needs spacers... buuut Jon, suspecting I wasnt 100%, said he would send me a new one too any specs I want...??? Seriously? Weeell, thats awesome, but if ur gonna go that far, how about sending me the weld yourself version? :D He thought it over, and pretty quickly said "no problem".

Im happy... extremely.

shotgunjoe, I received your email but for some reason- my reply has been bounced back to me twice!

I'm trying to get you the schematics with instructions and just wanted to make sure everything looks good on the hard tail.??

Jon had me crank out a Pro Builder's Kit for ya and It's on it's way as we speak! Jon will always take good care of you!!!

Can you send me another email? Maybe with an alternate reply address??

Thanks! david@voodoovintage.com

Emailed you David!

While im waiting to finish OUR bike, we got a call for another install. The bird tail looks great, my only complaint is the 2 piece gussets... they used to be 4 piece and fitment was cleaner. (granted if you're using a mig welder, the extra strength is worthwhile trade off). As you'd expect, the frame was laser straight... love this jig!
