Hello folks,
So after riding simple Enduro style bikes, I've always been accustomed to pulling the clutch in to kick start it when I would stall. However, as you may obviously know, I cannot do this with the XS650. I understand the safety of it, but at the same time it's a bit annoying to have to put the bike into neutral just to get it started again.

Is there a way to bypass this, or is it tied with the decompression lever in some way?

Thanks,
2BC

No bypass. No decompression lever either for that matter.... except for the XS2 and maybe the TX's

Nope, no way around it. The kicker works through the clutch so it must be engaged for it to function. But, you can electric start it in gear with the clutch pulled. The electric start ties into the crank after the clutch, no through it like the kicker.
