I have two different schematics and neither shows that. Figures.
I was only questioning it as just like getting rid of extra things like that.

Yes, the clutch switch and it's associated relay came along in '81. Not sure what diagrams you were looking at but the one I have from the '81 factory manual clearly shows it. The relay is located under the right side cover just above the big starter/headlight safety relay .....
To eliminate the circuit, you will need to remove both the clutch switch and the relay. But, since power to the starter solenoid runs through the relay, you will need to jumper those two wires together in the harness plug (the two R/W wires) to restore starter function .....
