bike is on the ground and rolls freely in neurtal
when i put it in gear and hold in the clutch lever
the bike does not roll freely
as if the clutch lever is not fully throwing the clutch
ideas??

Steve, silly question... but can we safely assume that you have already adjusted the the clutch at the case cover, and at the perch? And is this only when the bike is hot, or cold/not running as well?

Sounds like sticky plates maybe. Add some seafoam to the oil and go for a ride and do a lot of quick starts, that should break them free. change the oil when you are done.

if you pull the clutch cable TOO much, you can have a similar effect. See if there is a sweet spot in the lever throw...

i'll check the lever today
tho it seems to roll now

bike running, 1st gear, lever pulled in
seems to roll nice

just never had this problem b4 and it seems weird

When the clutch is wortking properly there will be some drag. Quirk of the clutch. As long as when running, in gear it won't drag the bike forward your ok.
When pushing it around not running the drag is more noticable.
