This may be a dumb question but; do I need the wire that is attached to the clutch lever if I only use the kickstart? I am putting on different bars and want to clean up some of the unnecessary stuff.

I think you mean the switch that means the clutch is pulled that lets the e-start work when the bike is in gear. You can remove it. If you want to continue to use the e-start jumper its connector inside the bucket. That will let you use the starter while the bike is in gear and the clutch is engaged - always handy :D

My electric start doesn't work anyway. Tried fixing it by squeezing the "wishbone" spring in a vice but that didn't work so I gave up on it and have riding for a couple years with just the kickstart. I realize there is no solenoid in this picture but I was wondering, do I need these relays or what ever these are in the pic?
