Eventually I will install a Pamco, but I'd like to start with a coil. Motor will stay stock cam and stock bore, unless oversize pistons are needed. Suggestions?

Well, I would need to know the year and model of your bike to answer the question, but if it is a points bike, then both of the stock coils will be replaced with a single dual output coil, like Mikes 17-6822 or 17-6903 coil. You will then have to tie your points wires together and only use one condenser to work with points. These coils have a lower resistance than the stock points coils, so the points will not last as long due to the higher current.

If you have a '80 to '83 model, then its a little easier. Just substitute one of the recommended coils for the stock coil, or keep the stock coil to go with the PAMCO.
