Compatibility and Interchangeable Parts List

If something like this already exists please direct me to it. Otherwise, I'd like to make one.

Basically a spreadsheet/database that lists common parts (screws, nuts, washers, rings, etc ) that are interchangeable with other parts/commonly available at a lower price. Be it a screw from home depot, or rings from a 19XX integra, just any bit of info to help other builders out and an organized way to share the knowledge.

This is parcially cause i'm a cheap bastard who cuts corner anywhere that i (safely) can, but also because i think it would be a great benefit to the community. I haven't spent a penny on anything except for PB Blaster yet and from looking at the XS specialty sites i can already tell i'll be broke if i buy every little thing from them.

Not much help here, but "fasteners is fasteners" so detailing nuts/bolts/washers is kinda pointless IMHO.

The rest of it would entail a HUGE amount of research and would indeed be a major service to the XS community (assuming it was accurate) but it's waaaaay more work than I'd be willing to take on.

this parts site, http://www.powersportsplus.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/parts.html if you click on a year/model/part it will list what other years/models used the same part but no listing of generic stuff exists so like grizld says have at it
