Yes, my panel van is the same make as the iconic
Mad Max Interceptor.
My van being an XB Falcon 500, 1976 vintage.
No supercharged 351 Cleveland though she does have a 4 speed manual floor changed gearbox and black bucket seats, GS/GT dash with full instrumentation and a
GS/GT steering wheel.
Under the hood is a fairly tame 200 cube straight six, with headers and a sports exhaust, lowered 2inches all round and riding on wide Dragway mag wheels of the period.
I've changed the hood and grille to GS/GT items by modification of an original type hood.
She has mostly original paint in Sherwood Green with genuine patina , the "crows feet" that afflicted certain colours when exposed to a lot of sun and weathering.
No serious rust at all, what I did find has been cut out and has panel steel MIG welded back in.
Plan is not to repaint as these survivor cars are only original once...
Though I must admit the temptation to give her a visual Mad Max treatment with satin black paint and zoomie exhaust and fake blower is biting at me like an Aussie Blue Heeler cattle dog hungering for a can of Dinki Di dog food.
Max's staple diet in post war apocalyptic times.
I think I can resist the temptation to Mad Max my panel van......but you never know
