crankcase vent?

Just wondering what this fitting is for on the engine? Embarrassing question, yes, but I do need to know!

If you can't tell, it is diagnolly across from the neutral indicator switch.

It's the neutral detent. What do you think the neutral switch is? That bolt is just a crankcase fastener.

holds the shifter drum in posistion, there are 5 dimples in that end of the shifer drum one for each gear and another on the other end of it that the neutral switch uses,
