Crap!! 3 things at once.

I don't know what happened today. Stock '81, pods, sportster exhaust. It was all running fine for the past few days. Today I started it up and: light smoke coming from where right exhaust bolts to head. Backfiring out of left pipe, not bad but it does. And now I have to ease the throttle up slowly or it will stall. Sounds kinda like it's sucking air. Once it gets to a higher rpm it's fine. Rich exhaust smell as well. Plugs look fine.

I haven't done anything yet and wanted to ask. I only had about an hour today to mess with it.
Any ideas?
