My sister sent these pics to me a few months ago, just before she died. That's Mick in the first picture, my brother, with the BSA bantam he converted for MotoX, then called 'scrambling'', me and the old man watching on. Pic was taken sometime in the early 60s. Motor cycles just run in the blood.

Mick went on to win the state championship 250cc Moto X title, I believe he came second in the 125cc class the same year. Around the same time - 60s, he was also racing stock bikes at the Claremont speedway. Stock bikes were similar to solos, except they had old Brit single motors (Goldy motors were very popular). As they were getting the same times, and better, than solos, they were discontinued. Mick was sponsored on a solo after that and won the Champion of Champions in his final year of racing speedway, winning a trip to Fiji.

Mick continued racing Moto X well into his 50s I believe. He was a qualified mechanic who I often called on to fix my BSA Thunderbolt when ever I fiddled with it and stuffed it up. We never got along, he would get pissed at me for fiddling with the bike, calling me a ef up who couldn't make a bed. Now days, he is enthralled with my build, as is his son, also a MotoX champion. He was a very talented rider (lived and breathed bikes) but not so much a mechanic, coudn't lace wheels and didn't like working on his Husqvarna MotoX engines, calling them Swiss clocks. I on the other hand was and still are a supremely un-talented rider, but as it turned out a fair mechanic, fabricator and machinist, much to Mick's surprise.

Second is me at my sisters wedding, sometime in the mid 60s (dig the rocker hairdo), third is my sister with her son, his son and his son, a couple of weeks before she died.
