My wife and myself get a $50 credit twice a year to be used to buy over the counter items
It comes from the company that handles our supplement to go with our medicare coverage
After a few times of using that credit we suddenly have more band aids sun screen etc. than we could possibly be used by the 2 of us
So I went to the local food shelf and asked them what they could use so I could order it for them
She said mainly they could use toothpaste / tooth brushes / deodorant / and shavers
I though what the hell since the company won't lower our rates why not take advantage of their  generous offer
Just a thought

Great idea. Having worked at our local food bank and meals-on-wheels, it was a shock to learn how many elderly people really need all the generosity they can get. Heartbreaking really.
